World Peace Elbow

Sunday the 22nd , the Oklahoma City Thunder traveled to Los Angeles to play the Lakers. It was a very close game but the Lakers managed to pull out a victory in double over time.
Late in the second quarter Metta World Peace (Ron Artest)  ran down the quart on a fast break and dunked the ball in the hoop. He then started celebrating, as he was celebrating James Harden (OKC shooting guard) stepped closer to him ready to catch the ball being thrown in by Ibaka. As he was doing so World Peace elbowed Harden in the face causing him to fall on the ground.
During half time James Harden was checked for signs of concussions, and passed the first test with no signs. They went ahead and did a second test and he started showing little signs of having a concussion. He didn't play with the Thunder the rest of the week but is said to be OK. He should be returning to the court with the Thunder for the playoffs this weekend.
When asked about the incident World Peace said,"It was bad timing for me and then, physically, it was bad timing for Mr. Harden, who can write up a left-hand dunk and then all of the sudden somebody is right behind you? It's hard to draw that up and to plan something like that. It was just the worst timing for me."
World Peace also tweeted, :"Can magic johnson, jon barry and steven A compare my accidental elbow to the Luis scola face step and the Blake griff take down..?" "Shaq ,How can u comment on elbows.. What about the punch you threw at brad miller. And the elbows at dikembe and the prizbilla concussion?" World Peace wrote in another tweet.
I didn't think this was at all an "accident". It looked intentional and World Peace knew Harden was right by him. I guess it just comes down to what you think of the incident, take a look for yourself.

  1. Asha- I'm glad you chose a topic that interests you- It's much easier to write when we are sincerely interested in the topic.

Your first couple of posts are good, and I can tell you are working hard to figure this thing out.

Here are just some tips I could offer:

-The colors of text and background make it a little difficult to read. You might look at your blog and consider making the color of the font a tiny bit lighter so it stands out more from your dark background.

-Consider adding some pictures or a different border that reflects the topic of your blog. You might even be able to find a border that has team logos, and you could put this up to let people know they are looking at a basketball-themed blog. If you need help figuring this out, let me or one of your classmates know. It's not too hard to customize stuff like that.

-I like that you included links to the Ron Artest video-in the future you could even include a picture of the players you are writing about. People will appreciate if you include all kinds of visuals-pictures, embedded videos, etc.

All in all, you did a good job and your blog is off to a good start!

    -Mr. Tucker
